Dr. Amal Mohammed Al-Malki is Associate Teaching Professor of English at Carnegie Mellon University and Executive Director of the Translation and Interpreting Institute (TII), Hamad bin Khalifa University- Qatar Foundation. She teaches at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar courses in writing composition, postcolonial literature, theories of translation, and Islamic Feminism.
The most important thing Dr. Amal enjoys in her career is connecting with students on different levels. Always eager to do new things, she loves day to day interaction that breaks the routine.
Her research interests include the negotiation of identity between east and west, media representations of Arab women and postcolonial literature.
